Origin: Dessert


  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup matzo cake meal
  • 4 eggs


    Combine first 4 ingredients in sauce pan. Bring to a boil, reduce hear and add cake meal all at once. Beat vigorously over low heat with a wooden spoon until mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating each thoroughly until thick and smooth. Drop by Tbsp. onto greased cookie sheet about 2" apart. Bake at 450° for 20 minutes. Reduce hear to 350°and bake until golden, about 20 minutes. Remove from sheet and cool on wire rack. When cool cut off tops and fill with ice cream and berries. Replace tops, sprinkle with confectioner's sugar and serve.
