Origin: Soups

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sirloin
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • minced
  • 2 cans kidney beans
  • liquid reserved
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder (or more to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of black pepper
  • Cheddar cheese
  • grated
  • Green onions
  • chopped
  • 6 drops Tabasco (or to taste)

Directions

    In 2 qt saucepan, add vegetable oil. Brown ground sirloin. Stir to break meat as it browns. Add chopped onion and garlic. Pour off excess fat, if necessary. Add kidney beans, tomato soup, water, chili powder, vinegar, salt and pepper. Stir well. Heat to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer 30 mins. When serving, put grated cheddar cheese and chopped green onions on top.
