Week 2 of the Center for Jewish Life’s new Klutznick Learning Series, “What is it About the Ten Commandments?” meets this Monday, March 3.
The Week 2 topics include “Thou shalt not steal” and “Thou shalt not murder.”
Speakers include Temple Israel’s Cantor Wendy Shermet, Sarpy County Judge Larry Gendler and Omaha Police Captain Shayna Ray.
Gendler is a separate juvenile court judge for Sarpy County and will discuss how random acts of theft have a significant impact on victims and how the system response can lead to healthy case closures. Ray, a captain with the Omaha Police Department, will share her insights on murder investigations and the long reaching effect on families and the community.
The series meets Monday evenings through March 31, 7 – 8:30 p.m., at the JCC. The series is open to the community, free of charge and is sponsored by the fund of the Klutznick Chair of Jewish Civilization at Creighton University.
