“It is sure great to be back home!  After living away from Omaha for the last 13 years it is wonderful to return and to be on staff at Temple Israel.  I have had the unique opportunity to have been a Jewish professional all my adult life and am very grateful that I will continue in that role.

There is a certain level of excitement for me to be starting at Temple Israel as Program Director and all of the opportunities that it will offer.  Temple Israel has had a history of quality Program Directors and top level programming and I hope that I can live up to that standards that have been set.

One of the keys to success in my new position that I have set for myself will be to get to know the membership of Temple.  Many of our members I do know from my past in Omaha and many of our members were my student’s years ago and I look forward to seeing them.  For those of you who I do not know, I look forward to meeting you and working with you.

As we approach Independence Day and Shabbat, I hope that we will reflect on the meaning of peace as it relates to us as Americans and as supporters of the State of Israel.  We read in the Torah this week in Balak of one of our enemies learning to respect us and live in peace.  I hope that in our life we see this happen again.

Shabbat Shalom”
