Temple Israel’s Golf Outing is right around the corner and it’s time to reserve your spot on the links. The annual event will be held this year on Monday, August 19, at Shadow Ridge Country Club, 188th and Pacific Streets.
“We hope to see a lot of participants on the course this year,” said Golf Outing Co-Chair Jeff Smedlund. “It’s always a fun event and a great fundraiser for Temple Israel and our education fund.”
The outing begins with grilled burgers and brats for lunch at noon, followed by the shotgun start at 1 p.m. A foursome can register for $540 or singles can participate for $135 and will be paired with another single. Participants will have use of a golf cart and driving range privileges. Dinner is also included in the cost.
Golfers are encouraged to invite spouses and friends who may not enjoy swinging a club to cocktails and dinner, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the club. The cost for dinner only is $30, with a cash bar.
As this is a fundraiser for Temple Israel, non-golfers who would like to contribute their support can be a hole sponsor. Individual hole sponsors’ names are also printed in the program. Please contact the Temple office for more information about sponsoring a hole or if you have an item to donate for a flag prize or the raffle.
“We’re going to have some fantastic raffle prizes this year,” Smedlund said. “Our sponsors have always been very generous.”
In addition to the great flag and raffle prizes, there will also be a hole-in-one contest, an annual tradition. Last year, one of the golfers hit a hole-in-one and collected $20,000 cash. This year’s hole-in-one prize is a new car.
