Maimonides: Laws and Ethics

Guy Matalon, Scholar in Residence of the Jewish Federation of Omaha, will guide our study of the classic code of Jewish Law compiled by Moses Maimonides. The class will survey various topics in Jewish Law, and focus on their ethical underpinnings. We will examine how Maimonides, in presenting the particular laws of Judaism, fosters an appreciation of universal ethical components of the Torah tradition.
