Temple Israel will participate in the Omaha Community Foundation’s annual Omaha Gives! on Wednesday, May 21. This 24-hour period of online giving promotes philanthropy in our community and is the perfect day to donate to the congregation’s Archive Project.
Temple Israel will digitize and provide public access to archives from our beginnings in 1871 to the present day. The archival collection will invite theologians, historians and congregants to study the community of Omaha, NE before and during the great Jewish immigration to the United States and in modern American history. By digitizing articles, photos and lectures, we will offer insight into the social and cultural history of our congregation’s involvement in Omaha.
Omaha Gives! is our chance to come together for 24 hours to contribute as many charitable dollars as possible to support the work of local nonprofit organizations. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to support our effort to archive Our Story: Omaha and Temple Israel, 1871-2014.
Temple Israel is a 501(c)(3) and all contributions are tax deductible.
